The temperate bass family includes the striped bass, the hybrid striped bass and the white bass. While fishing with Dan you might catch anyone of the three. Dan is often asked the differences between the three by first time customers and a quick review of these identification tips should prove very helpful.
The Striped Bass

. Strong, unbroken dark lines

A. Has two, distinct tooth patches near the midline towards the back of the tongue.
B. Body slender, less than 1/3 length.
C. Stripes distinct, several extend to tail.

The Hybrid Striped Bass

. Back Slightly Arched
. Some broken lines

A. Has two, distinct tooth patches near the midline towards the back of the tongue.
B. Body deep, more than 1/3 length.
C. Stripes distinct, usually broken, several extend to tail.

. Arched Back
. Faint lines, usually unbroken

A. Has one tooth patch near the midline towards the back of the tongue.
B. Body deep, more than 1/3 length.
C. Stripes Faint, only one extends to tail.
